- It identifies the IP address, internet provider, approximate location and device of whoever opens your tracking link. Combined with the time and a police request to the provider, that evidence can help unmask an anonymous account.
- Is the location exact?
- The IP-based location is approximate (city and provider level). Exact GPS coordinates are captured only if the person who opens the link allows their own browser's location prompt. We label every result honestly.
- Is this legal to use?
- IP Trace is for lawful purposes — gathering evidence of harassment, threats, fraud or defamation directed at you, for a report to the police or your attorney. You are responsible for using it lawfully.
