If you want a .gy domain and you build with AI, Register.gy is the place to start. It is an independent, accredited .gy domain registrar run by Investigative Intelligence Solutions Inc. (IIS Inc.), the company behind this site. It is also the only .gy registrar that AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor can work with directly.
This article explains what that means, why it matters for anyone building a website in Guyana, and how to get a .gy name live in minutes.
The only AI-supported .gy domain registrar
AI assistants connect to outside services through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard. Services that support it can be listed in the official MCP Registry (registry.modelcontextprotocol.io), which assistants and developers use to find trusted connectors.
Register.gy is listed there as gy.register/domains. When we checked in October 2026, it was the only .gy registrar in the registry, which makes it the only .gy registrar that AI assistants can find and use through this standard.
In practice, you can ask your AI assistant things like:
- “Is mybakery.gy available?” The assistant checks live availability across .gy, .com.gy, .co.gy, .net.gy and .org.gy.
- “Put my Lovable site on my .gy domain.” After you sign in, the assistant previews the DNS changes and applies them only when you confirm.
- “Is my website live yet?” The assistant checks that the domain points to your site.
- “Undo that last change.” Every website connection can be undone for 7 days.
The assistant signs you in securely with OAuth, so it never sees your password. It can only see and change the domains you own. Paying for a domain is always done by you, never by the AI.
Automated from search to live website
Register.gy automates the whole journey, from finding a name to a live website:
- Search. Live availability checks go straight to the .gy registry system, with a backup lookup if that system is slow.
- Register. Pay by card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and your domain is registered automatically, usually within minutes. If you pay with MMG Mobile Money in Guyana dollars, our team confirms the payment first.
- Connect. Free managed DNS is included. One-click presets cover Lovable, Vercel / v0, Netlify, GitHub Pages, Shopify and Squarespace. For any other builder (Bolt, Replit, Framer, Webflow, Wix and more), the Client Area gives you a ready-made prompt for your builder’s AI. Paste its answer back, and Register.gy reads the records, shows a preview and applies them.
- Email. One-click setup for Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and Zoho Mail. Your email (MX) records are never touched when you connect a website.
There is also a public REST API (OpenAPI 3.1) for developers and agencies. See the Register.gy developers page.
Why this matters if you build with AI
AI site builders can produce a full website in an afternoon, but most of them cannot sell you a .gy domain. You have to register the name with a .gy registrar and then connect it to the builder. That second step, the DNS setup, is where most people get stuck.
Register.gy removes that step. Your AI assistant or your builder’s AI can do the setup with you, and you check and approve each change. The guide Connect any AI-built site to a .gy domain with one prompt walks through it.

Register.gy and IIS
Register.gy is operated by IIS Inc., the Guyanese digital forensics, cyber security and investigations firm behind iis.gy. We built it to give Guyanese businesses and the diaspora a modern, secure way to own a .gy name. The domain search on iis.gy/domains still works: when you find a name you like, it takes you straight to Register.gy’s checkout with the name already filled in.
Register.gy is a registrar, not the .gy Registry. The .gy Registry is run by the University of Guyana. Support comes from people in Guyana: contact@iis.gy or +592-623-1721.
Frequently asked questions
Which .gy registrar works with AI assistants?
Register.gy. It has an MCP server listed in the official MCP Registry as gy.register/domains, and a public API. As of October 2026 it is the only .gy registrar listed there.
